Washington, DC-Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA) will honor Congressman Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ) with the 2013 Commissioners Congressional Leadership Award for his ongoing support of the aviation industry.
Congressman LoBiondo was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 and has recently been selected to Chair the House Transportation and Infrastructure's Subcommittee on Aviation during the 113thCongress.
Congressman LoBiondo has been an unwavering supporter of airport issues including his steadfast support to raise the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC). The Congressman also worked closely with Speaker Boehner during the FAA Shutdown in the summer of 2011, to come to an agreement with the Senate to put FAA employees back on the job. Congressman LoBiondo is also very passionate about NextGen and is a strong advocate of infrastructure and the Atlantic City International Airport.
"We are pleased to award Congressman LoBiondo with this year's Commissioners Congressional Leadership Award, said Sylvia Stewart, Chair of ACI-NA's Commissioners Committee and Vice Chair of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority. "Congressman LoBiondo has long recognized the economic impact of airports on their local communities and that the freedom to raise the PFC would allow airports to invest in infrastructure creating tens of thousands of jobs.
This year's congressional reception is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20 from 6:00-8:00pm on Capitol Hill.
