Tien Ngoc Ho removed from Canada

Calgary, Alberta, August 20, 2012 - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today confirmed that Tien Ngoc Ho has been removed from Canada for serious criminality. The 25‑year-old Calgary man was removed to Vietnam under escort by CBSA officers on August 13, 2012.

Ho was ordered deported in December 2011 following 26 firearms-related convictions for which he received a term of imprisonment of six years. He was released into CBSA custody on July 13, 2012, and remained in detention pending his removal from Canada on the basis that he was a danger to the public.

The CBSA is committed to removing foreign criminals from Canada. These actions demonstrate the CBSA is fulfilling its mandate of ensuring the safety and security of Canada and Canadians.
