Ana takes on Italy's Roberta Vinci in the second round of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank on Thursday in Montreal. It will be the eighth meeting between the pair and Ana leads the head-to-head series 5-2.
Ana won the first four meetings against the 29-year-old, then lost the next two, before triumphing 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals of the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions in Bali last November.
All seven previous matches have taken place on hard courts, either indoors or outdoors, like today's surface.
Vinci reached round two thanks to a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Belgium's world No.30 Yanina Wickmayer. Ana is seeded 11th here, so received a round one bye.
"We've played each other many times and it seems to get more difficult with each match I play her," said Ana.
She added: "Montreal is a special place for me, considering it's where I won my first big title, when I was only 18. It seems like only yesterday, but it's amazing to think that was six years ago."
The winner of the match will take on either Germany's Angelique Kerber or Ekaterina Makarova of Russia in the third round on Friday.
The match is scheduled as the first of the day on Centre Court and will begin at 12pm local time (6pm Central European Time). Click here for live point-by-point scoring from the Uniprix Stadium.
