In Los Angeles and Miami the Game Ranked #1 Among Adults 18-49, Regardless of Language


Telemundo To Broadcast Live the Final Match Between Mexico and Brazil on Saturday, August 11 at 9am ET, a Historic Match Widely Anticipated Among Soccer Fans




MIAMI- August 8, 2012- Telemundo Media's broadcast of the semifinal match between Mexico and Japan on Tuesday, August 8, ranked as the highest telecast in this time period (Tue 12N-2P) in the history of the network, averaging 1.4 million total viewers and 713,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. In addition, the game ranked as Telemundo's highest-rated soccer event in the 2012 London Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Called by internationally renowned sports commentator Andres Cantor the match delivered more than four times the average of the 2008 Beijing Olympics' entire delivery among total viewers.



In Los Angeles and Miami the game ranked #1 in the time period among adults 18-49 across all stations, regardless of language, delivering nearly a 90% share in Los Angeles. Additionally, Telemundo Phoenix and Las Vegas ranked #1 among all Spanish-language stations.



Telemundo Media has doubled the 2008 Beijing Olympics audience among total viewers during the first eleven days of the 2012 London Olympics, according to Nielsen. The Olympic coverage especially tailored to the Hispanic audience, has delivered a total cumulative viewership of 16 million total viewers through its first eleven days of coverage, 20% more than the Beijing Olympics for the same period.



Telemundo will broadcast the "dream final" between Mexico and Brazil this Saturday, August 11 at 9 a.m., a historic match widely anticipated among soccer fans and U.S. Hispanics. The winner will take the gold medal for the first time in their country's history.



Telemundo's coverage of London 2012 has been live, bringing the stories of Hispanics participating in the Olympics and the main events both on the field and around the Games to the homes of millions of U.S. Hispanic viewers. The coverage features marquee disciplines such as boxing, swimming, basketball and soccer. Deportes Telemundo Olympic broadcast team, headed by internationally acclaimed sportscaster Andrés Cantor, includes Jessi Losada, Mónica Noguera, Sammy Sadovnik, Edgar Lopez, René Giraldo, Karim Mendiburu, Kaziro Aoyama, Oscar Guzmán, Leti Coo and Verónica Contreras, as well as several former Olympic champions.
