TRAFFIC ALERT
Montana Avenue Improvements

As part of the City of Cincinnati's ongoing investment in the neighborhood of Westwood, the Department of Transportation and Engineering has been conducting street improvement work on Montana Avenue to improve the safety of the corridor using modern design standards.

On Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, the City's contractor, the Prus Construction Company, will begin grinding and paving operations on Montana Avenue between Craig Avenue and Baltimore Avenue.

After the paving operation, Prus will install new lane striping.  The new configuration will have one lane in each direction, and a turn lane in the center. Right turn lanes will be installed on Montana Avenue at the intersection with Westwood Northern Boulevard. Street parking will be eliminated within the limits of the project.

The following traffic restrictions apply:

  • For Montana Avenue (within 250' of Westwood Northern Boulevard), Harrison Avenue and Westwood Northern Boulevard:  From 6 to 9 a.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, all lanes will be open and available to traffic. During all other working hours, at least two lanes will be open and available to traffic; one lane in each direction.

  • For Montana Avenue (except as noted above), Epworth Avenue, Hazelwood Avenue, McFarland Road, Wunder Avenue, Meyer Place, Felicity Drive, Millrich Avenue, and Ferncroft Drive: During all working hours, at least two lanes will be open and available to traffic; one lane in each direction.  There may be times when flagging operations will be used to move traffic around the work site.  In general, during all non-working hours, the streets shall be open and available for the movement of traffic.

  • Access for emergency vehicles, businesses and residents shall be maintained at all times.

Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed and use caution when approaching the closure area.
