We featured this website about a year ago and think it's
so great, we want to spread the word again.
GrabaMatch was born through one players struggle to find a
regular pool of people for friendly matchplay. Relying on a
couple of contacts in your phonebook can be frustrating when
one of those pulls out or the weather is bad - before you
know it another week has passed and you've not played!
GrabaMatch makes finding opponents easy - it takes just 1
minute to register, and it's totally free. You can enter
your playing level based on your Configure Ranking or an
overseas equivalent and challenge anyone. If you don't
have a ranking, don't worry. You can estimate your
playing level, and the scoring system within GrabaMatch will
mean you find your true level after just a few matches.
There are currently 523 players registered on GrabaMatch.
Most active users are in the Auckland area, so Northern,
Waikato Bays, Central, Canterbury and Southern - this is your
time to sign up and get playing! Matches can be played
anywhere, with court hire costs (if applicable) being split
between the players. If you are hosting a match or visiting a
club, please respect the non-member/visitors policy at the
GrabaMatch is suitable for all levels of player including
those just starting out who want more match experience. The
most active players at the moment are ranked between 900 -
1700 points which equates to an S9/10 - S5 Configure Ranking.
Once you have found your playing level, GrabaMatch shows you
your ranking in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium,
The Netherlands and Switzerland. It also gives you an ITN
(International Tennis Number) which is an ITF (International
Tennis Federation) ranking system in place across the whole
world. This means you can use GrabaMatch when you're
overseas on business or holiday, knowing that you're
going to get a good match at the right level!
A unique aspect of GrabaMatch is its support to the
improvement of registered users. Your ITN comes with an ITF
description of your level of play and also gives you advice
and detail on what is needed in order to move up to the next
level. This is a great tool for maximising practice time and
really starting to understand your game and strengths and
