MISSISSAUGA, ONT. - In celebration of Canada's 145th birthday, Nissan Canada presented an awe-inspiring 3D holographic water show in four cities across Canada last night. With shows in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, thousands of spectators were delighted by the innovative spectacle that showcased the new 2013 Nissan Altima.

3D Water Screen Projection technology uses a submerged nozzle that sprays a thin fan of water onto a screen that works by diffusing light and projects the image towards the audience. The first company to use 3D Water Screen Projection technology in Canada, Nissan provided an experience that is as unique and cutting edge as the 2013 Altima.

"At Nissan, we provide innovative and exciting vehicles in all segments and are proud we  delivered on those two qualities by presenting Canadians with the first show of its kind here on Canada Day," says Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing for Nissan Canada. "Pairing the Altima with the 3D water show was an optimal way for us to showcase the Altima and Nissan's direction as a company; inspired by the high level of dynamism we aim to impart to every Nissan customer."

The new Nissan Altima offers best-in-class highway fuel economy of 5.0L/100km*, making it the most fuel efficient vehicle in the Nissan lineup besides the Nissan LEAF; signalling that Nissan is about to embark on its most innovative model year ever. Packed with an abundance of advanced "safety shield" features including: blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and moving object detection. People in attendance at the 3D Water Show yesterday were some of the first in Canada to see this new suite of technology features from Nissan.

About the 2013 Altima Sedan
The Nissan Altima has come a long way in the 20 years since it was first introduced. Now, with the arrival in summer 2012 of the all-new fifth generation design, Nissan promises to shake up the mid-size sedan segment again with the most engaging, purposeful and energetic vehicle in its class.

Building on Nissan's "Innovation that Excites" philosophy, the new Altima also offers standard NissanConnectSM integrated smartphone connectivity with standard

Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth®, and available Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, real-time POIs Powered by Google®, Google® Send-to-car, Easy Fill Tire Alert, and next-gene

ration Safety Shield Technologies, including Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Moving Object Detection (MOD) systems.Among the 2013 Altima's many attributes are a best-in-segment fuel economy of 5.0 litre/100 km highway* (2.5-litre engine), new premium exterior styling with a strong presence and excellent aerodynamics, an upscale interior with premium materials, and an outstanding balance of ride comfort, stability and a fun-to-drive demeanour with projected best-level acceleration.

Dynamic performance is provided by a choice of a redesigned 182-horsepower (est.) 2.5-litre DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine or a proven 270-horsepower (est.) 3.5-litre V6, with both engines matched with standard Xtronic CVT®. Altima's next-generation CVT reflects Nissan's more than 20 years of engineering and development leadership with its smooth, fuel-efficient design. Altima's redesigned 4-wheel independent suspension features segment-first Active Understeer Control for refined feel and responsive handling.

The premium interior design looks and feels a class above, with new NASA-inspired "zero-gravity" front seats, available leather appointments, and a new standard Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display in the center of the instrument cluster that integrates key information - including available navigation, text messaging notification and audio data - right in front of the driver. High levels of driving comfort are evident through Altima's numerous interior appointments, including a heated steering wheel, available through the SL model at less than $30,000.

The 2013 Nissan Altima is offered in six well-equipped models: Altima 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV, 2.5 SL, 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL. The new Altima is assembled in the United States.
