(Ozark, AR) The first annual Backwoods Art Gathering will be
held July 27 through July 29 with gates opening early at 6:00
am on Friday through about 1:00 pm the following Monday.
Sponsored by Green Mountain Eco Project and hosted by
Soundwave Surfers Entertainment LLC, Backwoods Art Gathering
takes Place at Mulberry Mountain, stomping ground of the most
renowned music festivals in Ozark. Sure to be a sizzling
event for all ages, cultures and tastes, this unique festival
promises live art, powerful performers and music assembled by
the area's best. You can also expect family delights like
games, shopping, tasty treats and activities like disc golf
and waterfall trails.
"This event is about art and as many forms of it that we can
squeeze in to one weekend," says it's founder and producer,
Antonio Perez, who not only founded this ambitious weekend
event, he is owner of Soundwave Surfers International and has
worked in the music and entertainment business since
childhood. Antonio wanted to find a middle ground between the
music festivals he loves like Wakarusa, and the live
performing artists, artwork and unique, creatively produced
material he admires in music. Backwoods Art Gathering grew
from his desire to share several varieties of art with as
many people as he could.
"Thanks to good people, my dream is becoming a reality! With
our friends at Mulberry Mountain Lodge, Nomadic Pyro
Circus's amazing artists and performers network, and
funding by our friends at Green Mountain Eco Project, we have
been given the canvas to paint our expressions."
There will be non-stop live music and sights to see, as well
as food and refreshments the entire weekend. Bands like
DumpTruck Butterlips, Shibaten Spirits, Buddha's GrooveShoes
and The Vine Brothers will be playing, and Motown Mike will
be hosting a late night acoustic performing arts zone with
jazz, drums and performers. Guests are encouraged to camp out
on the property, bring lawn chairs or blankets, and even
coolers with their own food and drinks. Festival-goers can
look forward to a main stage, an acoustic stage and a hidden
late night electronic tent. There will be something for
everyone during this weekend long festival. We hope to see
you there.
