SPOKANE, WA - KREM 2 News continues to be the Inland
Northwest's leading news station, with more #1 newscasts
than any other Spokane television station.
In the recently completed May ratings period, KREM 2 News
at 5 is once again the Spokane market's top source for news
in households as well as the key demographics of adults
18-49 and 25-54.
KREM 2 News at 6 remains the #1 newscast for adults
25-54. KREM 2 News at 6:30 extends its leadership as
the most-watched newscast over KXLY's 6:30 p.m. newscast in
households and key demographics. Launching in Fall
2011, KREM 2 News at 6:30 has quickly attracted twice as
many adults 25-54 than watch KXLY's extended newscast.
In the late news time period, KREM 2 News at 11 completes
the sweep of KREM 2 wins with a #1 ranking among households
and key demographics. KREM 2 News at 11's household
share of the Spokane audience is more than 40% greater than
KHQ, its nearest competitor and almost double the audience
of KXLY.
KREM 2 News is also the #1 newscast weekend evenings and
late night, winning every newscast time period Saturdays
and Sundays at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The May ratings reflect KREM 2 News' commitment to
outstanding journalism and follow KREM 2 winning regional
Edward R. Murrow Awards for Best Newscast, Breaking News
Coverage, Hard News Reporting, Investigative Reporting and
Sports Reporting.
Consumers turn to their favorite news source across all
devices, including computers, smart phones and
tablets. KREM 2 News dominates across platforms with
breaking news posts, Facebooks updates, tweets and multiple
tablet apps. KREM.com attracts more than 4 million
page views per month and has grown mobile page views more
than 200% in the past year, making it comScore's #1 site
among all local news operations - television, radio or
newspaper.
"Viewers across the Inland Northwest trust KREM 2 and once
again have made this organization their top news source
across every platform," says Noah Cooper, Executive News
Director. "Our outstanding team of journalists work
hard to keep our audiences safe, secure and informed at any
time, anywhere. So it is especially gratifying to see
audiences across the Inland Northwest make KREM 2 their #1
choice for news year after year."
