BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Sebastián Grazzini's discomfort with his uncertain contract situation could be close to being solved.

Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas insinuated on Tuesday that the team may well pick up the Argentine playmaker's option, while making it clear that he no longer deals with contracts as he did when he was technical director for four years.

"The guy is a starter for our team, so you can draw any conclusions after that, Klopas told MLSsoccer.com. "That's all I can say from my part.

Pappa may start Sunday

Klopas expressed optimism that Marco Pappa will be ready to start on Sunday, even though the Guatemalan hadn't returned from national team duty on Thursday.

"I've got to see how he feels, Klopas said. "He played 45 minutes in the last two games, so it's important that when a guy's been away for awhile to sit down and talk to him.

The last time Pappa left for international duty, he didn't come into the next game against Seattle until the 60th minute. He played 45 minutes in each of Guatemala's World Cup qualifying games against Jamaica and the United States during the last two weeks, scoring the equalizing goal in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with the US.

Klopas gone scouting

The Chicago boss missed practice on Tuesday because he was on a scouting trip, though he didn't say where.

If the Fire were to sign an international player, they would have to release an international player or acquire another international slot. But nothing appears imminent.

"We're just looking, Klopas said. "That's why we were there on a scouting trip.
