Newman University library receives gift of history books

The Newman University Dugan Library now has hundreds of new books pertaining to history, thanks to a gift from a local educator.
The library has accepted 768 books as a donation from the personal collection of Donald Douglas, Ph.D., a retired assistant professor of history at Wichita State University. Douglas is recognized for his many publications on Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. The library staff is currently taking inventory of the donation, and will find them a new place to call home within Dugan Library.
Douglas made the gift to Newman in appreciation of the Holocaust programs the university presents, including courses and special speakers. The university also works with The Wichita Holocaust Commemoration Council and Inter-Faith Ministries to present speakers or programs related to the Holocaust.
