A man will front court later this month after he was
allegedly detected travelling at 211km/h in a 110km/h
zone.
Yesterday (Thursday 14 June 2012), police from the Mittagong
Highway Patrol were performing stationary speed enforcement
duties on the Hume Highway, Mittagong.
About 2.10pm, officers noticed a Saab sedan travelling north
at an excessive speed.
Police checked the vehicle's speed using a LIDAR instrument,
which allegedly returned readings of up to 211 km/h - 101km/h
over the sign-posted speed limit of 110km/h.
Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the 27-year-old
driver, taking him to Bowral Police Station.
The man, who holds a Korean licence, was charged with
speed/manner dangerous and exceed speed over 45km/h.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice and will appear
before Moss Vale Local Court on 6 August 2012.
