Hedrick sees off local challenger

Top seed Rex Hedrick saw off the early challenge from local Jason Mudge to move into the quarter-finals of the South Australian Open in Adelaide on Thursday.
With the scores locked at 1-1 after two close opening games, Hedrick took control to dominate Mudge 11-8, 6-11, 11-2, 11-3.
He will now take on New Zealander Paul Coll for a place in the semi-finals.
All the top men's and women's seeds made it through to the quarters, with South Australia's Mike Corren still in with a chance of winning his fifth title in a row after his 11-9, 11-7, 11-5 win over Canberra's Joshua Southwell-Nobbs.
