NRC, FERC COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS ELECTRICAL GRID ISSUES JUNE 15 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a joint meeting with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) June 15 to discuss several technical topics related to the
U.S. electrical transmission grid.
The meeting will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at FERC Headquarters, 888 First St. NE, Washington, D.C. Staff from the NRC, FERC and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation will brief the two Commissions on several topics: nuclear plants' impact on the efficient and reliable operation of the U.S. grid; cyber security activities; the NRC's station blackout rulemaking activities; and FERC's grid reliability standards activities.
FERC is providing a webcast of the joint meeting. The public may attend the meeting without pre-registering. Questions about the meeting should be directed to Sarah McKinley at Sarah.McKinley@ferc.gov or by phone at 202-502-8004.
