WASHINGTON, May 24, 2012 - On March 27, 2012, the U.S.
Department of Agriculture issued a default decision against
Michael Brent Wagner (Wagner) which became final and
effective on May 14, 2012. Wagner has been ordered to cease
and desist from engaging in business in any capacity for
which bonding is required without filing and maintaining an
adequate bond.
He is also prohibited from engaging in business in any
capacity for which bonding is required under the Packers and
Stockyards (P&S) Act without first becoming properly
registered. Wagner has been assessed a civil penalty in the
amount of $10,000.
The P&S Act is a fair trade practice and payment protection
law that promotes fair and competitive marketing environments
for the livestock, meat, and poultry industries.
