Jenner & Block Of Counsel Marc D. Sokol, who serves as Vice-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Class Action Litigation Committee, will moderate a CBA seminar entitled "Recent Developments in Class Actions" on May 22, 2012.  The seminar will address recent developments in key areas of class litigation from the perspectives of leading plaintiffs and defense attorneys in the class action bar.  Partner Howard S. Suskin will speak on one of the panels and will address recent developments in securities class actions.

Mr. Sokol is a member of the Firm's Securities Litigation and Enforcement and Class Action Practices.  He has litigated a wide variety of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts and in arbitrations and has substantial experience defending class actions and securities actions for companies and their officers and directors.  Clients also seek his counsel in connection with internal and government investigations, including investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission and other government agencies.  Mr. Sokol has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Securities Litigation. 

Mr. Suskin is a partner in the Firm's Litigation Department, Co-Chair of its Class Action Practice and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement and International Arbitration Practices.  He is also a member of the Firm's Subprime Litigation Task Force and serves on the Firm's Management Committee.  Mr. Suskin has substantial first-chair experience representing individuals and business entities in civil and criminal securities matters, including class actions alleging securities fraud and misrepresentation claims.  He is Co-Chair of the Class and Derivative Actions Subcommittee of the ABA Securities Law Committee and a member of the Advisory Board of Board IQ, a Financial Times publication, and the Securities Editorial Board of Law 360.  Mr. Suskin serves on the faculty of Practising Law Institute.  He publishes and speaks extensively on issues relating to class actions and securities law.
