GRAND CENTRAL PUBLISHING TO PUBLISH
MEMOIR BY CEELO GREEN
New York, NY-February 28, 2012
Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, announced today that it will publish a memoir, yet to be titled, by CeeLo Green with Big Gipp and David Wild. The book is scheduled to be published in 2013.
CeeLo Green said, "FORGET YOU? After reading my book,
there will be no doubt that I am meant to be. You will
enter into the supernatural, the surreal, and
extraordinary. As CeeLo Green, a.k.a. 'everybody's
brother,' I will make you a believer. I talk
about art imitating life; YOU discover CRAZY."
In the book,CeeLo Green, a multi-platinum and five-time Grammy award-winning recording artist, will tell his personal and candid story of how he found his voice as an artist and a showman and got to this amazing moment in his life and his career. Along with insights from his "brother from another mother" and Goodie Mob partner Big Gipp, CeeLo will offer hope, inspiration, and advice about how an underdog can find success. He is working on the book with David Wild, Contributing Editor for Rolling Stone and Emmy-nominated television writer.
"He dresses in sequined capes, performs with the Muppets and Madonna, and does 360° flips with a grand piano at his fingertips. Imagine all that outrageously unique and creative talent channeled into a book," states Beth de Guzman, Vice-President and Editor-in-Chief of Paperbacks at Grand Central Publishing, who acquired North American rights for the book from Dan Raines and Meredith Smith at Creative Trust, Inc.
CeeLo Green is one of the coaches on NBC's #1 show The Voice, one half of Gnarls Barkley and one fourth of Goodie Mob. He recently won two 2012 Grammy Awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. His hit single F*** You was the #1 in spins in America on all radio formats in 2010. The official video has nearly 66 million YouTube hits, and the song has sold over 7.5 million singles.
