Commuter Services Day Planned at Collier County Government Center on October 20Trying to think green? Want to learn more about how to reduce your carbon footprint? Need to get more exercise and save money on transportation? If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, then walk, bicycle, hop on a Collier Area Transit bus, carpool or vanpool to Collier County’s Commuter Services Day on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Collier County Main Government Campus, 3303 Tamiami Trail East, Naples.This outdoor event will feature numerous local resources and information for individuals and organizations looking to go green get healthy and find alternative modes of transportation. The Florida Department of Transportation’s Commuter Services Program, Collier County Government including; Collier County Alternative Transportation Modes Department/Collier Area Transit; and the Collier County Health Department’s Smart Growth Coalition, along with the Naples Pathways Coalition are encouraging Collier County commuters and residents to think creatively, and behave proactively, to reduce their fuel consumption, increase conservation, save money, and improve health.Simply register with Commuter Services to receive a participation wristband when you arrive at the Government Center. You may also preregister on-line at www.CommuterServicesFL.com and bring a printed confirmation. Registration is free and once registered, you are not obligated to participate.
