RICHMOND, Va. (January 2, 2013) - CarMax Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation's largest used-car retailer, was selected by the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina as the 2012 Torch Award recipient for large businesses. The local stores will be recognized at the annual awards luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 16.

"I'm proud we are considered one of the most ethical businesses in the Eastern North Carolina community," says Kevin Cox, Atlanta regional vice president and general manager. "Our associates work hard to exceed every customer's expectations and to give back locally by donating money and their time."

There are currently two stores and one car buying center serving the Eastern North Carolina community. Customers can browse inventory, buy and sell their vehicles at both the Fayetteville location, 521 N. McPherson Church Road, and the Raleigh CarMax, 8520 Glenwood Ave. If a customer is only looking to sell or have their vehicle appraised, they can do so at the Raleigh Car Buying Center located at 3809 Capital Blvd.

Receiving the Better Business Bureau Torch Award reflects CarMax's continued dedication customer satisfaction and community service. Torch Award winners are chosen for their commitment to trustworthy and ethical business practices.
