Texas Native with Career Record of News and Programming Excellence and Local Revenue Growth Returns to Lead KLBK-TV (CBS) and KAMC-TV (ABC) -
LUBBOCK and IRVING, Texas (February 25, 2013) - Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) announced today that Eric Thomas has been appointed Vice President / General Manager of KLBK-TV (CBS) and associated digital services, including community web portal everythinglubbock.com, which serve the Lubbock, TX DMA. In his new role, Mr. Thomas will also oversee Nexstar's joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting's KAMC-TV (ABC). The appointment, effective March 4, marks the return for Mr. Thomas to KLBK and KAMC where in the 1990s he began his broadcasting career as an Account Executive. Since 2008, Mr. Thomas has served as Vice President / General Manager of KTAB-TV (CBS) and, through an operating agreement, KRBC-TV (NBC) in Abilene/Sweetwater, Texas, and in his new capacity at KLBK-TV he will continue to report to Brian Jones, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Nexstar Broadcasting.
During his tenure at KTAB and KRBC, Mr. Thomas provided strategic news and sales oversight and consistently exceeded economic goals resulting in viewership growth and increased revenues for both stations. Under his leadership, Mr. Thomas directed the integration of the stations' news and web operations, and helped develop interactive platforms and digital sub channels, including the launch of KRBC.2 and Bounce Abilene. In addition, Abilene's community web portal bigcountryhomepage.com has consistently increased its unique monthly page views since its launch in 2010. In 2012, and for the second time in 3 years, KTAB and KRBC received the Bonner McClain Public Service Award for outstanding service to the local community from Texas Association of Broadcasters. From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Thomas served as the General Sales Manager of KAMC-TV / KLBK-TV ('04-'08), and KTAB-TV ('00-'04) where he developed and led highly effective teams and implemented sales and marketing and new media initiatives that resulted in increased market share and profitability at the three stations.

Mr. Thomas is a 1989 graduate of Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Advertising. Eric serves on The United Way Executive Board with his wife Kim, and the West Texas Rehab Center Executive Board. He also serves on the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Business Counsel, the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee, the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Business Expo Committee, the Abilene Industrial Foundation, and the Champions Classic Football Committee. He is also a member of the Abilene Rotary Club, the Abilene Advertising Federation, and the Abilene Texas Tech Alumni Club. Additionally, Eric is currently working with members of the local community to create an Executive Board / Advisory Committee for the Abilene Center for Economic Opportunity.
