Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has given coach Kwesi Appiah a boost ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations match against Mali by returning to training on Tuesday.

The Black Stars striker who picked up some knocks during their 2-2 draw in Group B with DR Congo was rested for Monday's training session.

Also returning to training at the Nelson Mandela Municipal University was Mubarak Wakaso, another player who joined Gyan on the sidelines on Monday.

Meanwhile, striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom continued his recovery from a leg injury with his running sessions.

The Black Stars will play Mali on Thursday in their second group fixture.
