Donation for Hurricane Sandy Relief in the United States
Tokyo, November 5, 2012 --- Sumitomo Mitsui Banking
Corporation (SMBC, President and CEO: Takeshi Kunibe), SMBC
Nikko Securities Inc. (SMBC Nikko, President and CEO: Eiji
Watanabe), and their employees would like to extend their
heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy for those people
affected by Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast region of the
United States. In order to help in the recovery efforts in
the region after the hurricane, SMBC and SMBC Nikko will
donate a total of
$300,000 U.S. dollars (approximately 24 million Japanese Yen)
to the American Red Cross and other organizations.
SMBC and SMBC Nikko will continue to make every effort to
support the people and businesses in the affected areas.
