Session details are as follows:

Session 1: Performance Management in Big Data Applications

Why:	NoSQL and Hadoop environments are a new challenge for performance engineers. NoSQL solutions require more logic to the application and rely on accurate access patterns to perform. Ensuring MapReduce performance and scalability is a big data problem in itself.

Session 2: Application Performance in the Clouds - Lessons Learned
Date:	Thursday, November 8, 2012
Time:	8:15 a.m. Pacific Time
Where:	Santa Clara Convention Center, Ballroom A-H
Why:	Organizations face the challenge of monitoring and managing performance in clouds nearly every day. Not only is APM different in a cloud, but all clouds are not equal.
What:	During this session, attendees will learn:
	• how organizations can use APM in different clouds-Azure, EC2, VMware, private clouds-and how it differs from more traditional environments;
	• why performance monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning play such crucial roles in the cloud; and
	• why the goals for optimizing performance are no longer the same when talking about public clouds.
Speaker:	Michael Kopp is a technology strategist in the Compuware APM center of excellence and has more than 10 years of experience as an architect and developer in the Java/JEE space. Additionally, Kopp specializes in architecture and performance of large-scale production deployments with a special focus on virtualization and cloud.
