Entropic Passes Re-certification Audit in Continuation of ISO9001:2008; Confirming Entropic's Foundation for Disciplined and Consistent Business Practices

SAN DIEGO, Calif., December 3, 2012 - Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today its Quality Management System (QMS) has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 re-certification based on standards established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Successfully passing the audit, conducted by ISA Inc., a certification body providing certification/registration to QMS standards, is a testament to Entropic's commitment to producing high quality products, services and solutions.

Entropic's San Diego, Calif., facility and headquarters has been certified to ISO QMS standards since 2006. The Company last achieved ISO9001:2008 certification in 2009, and has passed all subsequent surveillance audits. Re-establishing the certification provides assurance to customers and employees that the Company is both focused and compliant in meeting industry quality requirements.

"Entropic is steadfast in its promise to meet customer and industry requirements by continuously improving the effectiveness of our processes, products and services through our Quality Management System," said Shekhar Khandekar, vice president, Corporate Quality at Entropic Communications. "Achieving ISO 9001:2008 re-certification underscores our ability to maintain a consistent customer-focused approach for continued business growth and performance; while adding value and instilling confidence in our supplier-customer interactions."

ISO 9001:2008 has set the global industry benchmark for QMS. The standard covers all aspects of an organization's quality improvement activities, including: identifying key processes, defining roles and responsibilities, policies and objectives, documentation requirements, the importance of understanding and meeting customer requirements, communication, resource requirements, training, product and process planning, design processes, purchasing, production and service, monitoring and measurement of products and processes, customer satisfaction, internal audit processes, management reviews, and overall improvement processes.
