BNY Mellon Video on Challenges of Youth Aging Out of Foster Care Under Consideration for Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Film Festival

Voting for festival finalists open through Friday, March 1

NEW YORK, February 15, 2013 - As part of BNY Mellon's Powering Potential Pathways program, the company said today that its educational video on the challenges of youth aging out of foster care is under consideration for the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship 2013 Film Festival. The video highlights the enormous pitfalls faced by this population and its potential to succeed in education and the workforce.
Through a public vote at http://www.bcccc.net/index.cfm?pageId=2244 now through Friday, March 1, individuals can help raise awareness about this important issue with the click of a mouse. The public vote will narrow the field to 10 finalists, which will then be reviewed by a panel of judges. The winner will be announced during the
2013 International Corporate Citizenship Conference in April.
BNY Mellon's Pathways program is a $6 million, five-year global workforce development initiative. The company's partners in the U.S., UK and Asia were selected for their positive histories of providing targeted support to vulnerable youth and their commitment to enhancing education, job training and career development opportunities for this population.
