News Release

Fifth Third Bank Introduces Mobile Check Deposit Service

2/7/2013

Cincinnati - Fifth Third Bank today announced the introduction of mobile deposit functionality for iPhone and Android users. This service is now available in all Fifth Third Bank markets.

"The ways in which consumers interact with their bank are constantly evolving," said Larry McClanahan, vice president and director of Digital Delivery for Fifth Third Bank. "We continue to see customers choose channels such as mobile to manage their finances. The enhancements we've made since introducing mobile banking four years ago - including the introduction of mobile deposit - reflect this shift in consumer preference and expectations."

To use the mobile deposit service, customers will need to update or download the Fifth Third Mobile Banking app. Customers will then choose the "Deposit Check" icon, take a photo of the front and back of the check, choose the account to deposit the check and confirm the amount. A confirmation will display once the item is accepted. Customers may deposit as late as 8 p.m. Eastern time to process the check the same day.

Fifth Third launched mobile banking in 2009 and now offers customers the ability to view account balances and transaction history, pay bills, transfer money between Fifth Third Bank accounts, locate the nearest Fifth Third Banking Center or ATM and make check deposits.
