UNION GAS GRANT HELPS PROVIDE FOOD TO MATTAWA FAMILIES IN NEED
$500 grant to Mattawa and Area Food Bank

Mattawa, ON - Union Gas has provided Mattawa and Area Food Bank with a $500 donation to help the organization put food on the tables of local families and individuals in need.
Darcy Watson, Union Gas utility service manager northeast district presented the cheque to Keith Mechefske, president of the Mattawa And Area Food Bank, at the organization's location in Mattawa.
"At Union Gas we are committed to being active members in the communities we serve and to working with our community partners to change the living conditions for individuals and families for the better," said Watson. "That's why we're so pleased to support Mattawa and Area Food Bank and the work they do to improve the quality of life for citizens in Mattawa."
The Mattawa and Area Food Bank provides food stocks for any Mattawa and area residents regardless of race, color, religion ethnicity or age who because of circumstance in their lives do not have enough food for themselves or their families.
"This year, we are helping 104 women, 126 children and 83 men with our Christmas Food Baskets Program," said Mechefske. "Union Gas' commitment this year and in past years is greatly appreciated and has made a real difference in the lives of these individuals."
Over the past 100 years, Union Gas has been privileged to work in more than 400 Ontario communities.
