Donation Made on Behalf of All Rockville Bank Customers to Help CT Recover from Hurricane Sandy
SOUTH WINDSOR, CONN., December 6, 2012 - William (Bill) H. W. Crawford, IV, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rockville Bank and Rockville Financial, Inc. (RCKB), today announced that the Rockville Bank Foundation is donating $25,000 on behalf of its customers to the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross to help with the organization's ongoing, local disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
"It's clear that the devastating impact this 'Superstorm' had on Connecticut families and businesses will be felt for a long time. It's been six weeks since the Hurricane struck Connecticut and the eastern seaboard and there is so much more support needed to aid our communities as they recover from this historic storm," said Crawford.
"The Rockville Bank Foundation is making a $25,000 donation to help the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross continue its unwavering efforts to assist fellow state residents and businesses during this difficult time. It's appropriate for our Foundation to make this generous donation on behalf of all Rockville Bank customers who also faced challenges of their own due to Hurricane Sandy."
"We wanted to do something for our customers who continued to make Rockville Bank their Bank as we dealt with issues of our own in the aftermath of this 'Superstorm.' Personally knowing our customers the way we do, this $25,000 donation is a gesture of goodwill they would want us to make to help our fellow Connecticut residents. It is truly symbolic of the care and respect our customers show our employees and indicative of the superior service we deliver to our customers every day," added Crawford.
Joe Kuzma, Senior Development Director for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross, visited Rockville Bank's Administrative Offices on Thursday, December 6, to participate in a check presentation with Rockville Bank officials. Bank officials on hand for the check presentation were Bill Crawford, President and CEO; Marino Santarelli, COO; Rick Trachimowicz, Human Capital & Organizational Development Officer and President of the Rockville Bank Foundation; Ray Lefurge, Chairman of the Bank's Board of Directors; and Michael Bars, Vice-Chairman of the Board.
