Advance Auto Parts Announces Promotions of Joshua Moore and Navdeep Gupta to Vice Presidents

ROANOKE, Va, January 21, 2013 - Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (NYSE: AAP), a leading retailer of automotive aftermarket parts, accessories, batteries, and maintenance items, announced today the promotion of Joshua Moore to Vice President, Finance and Investor Relations and Navdeep Gupta to Vice President, Finance and Treasury.

Mr. Moore will be responsible for the leading the Company's Enterprise Planning and Performance Management functions, Field Finance Support and Investor Relations. Mr. Moore joined Advance in April of 2008 and most recently served as Director, Finance and Investor Relations. Prior to joining Advance, he served in multiple finance, business development and treasury capacities at Best Buy, Agriliance and Land O'Lakes. Mr. Moore will report to Mike Norona, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Gupta will continue to lead the Company's Finance Decision Support Teams and will assume responsibility for leading the Treasury Function and Corporate Purchasing Team. Since joining Advance in 2006, Mr. Gupta has had a progressive career with escalating roles in both finance and treasury. Most recently Mr. Gupta served as Director, Finance Decision Support. Prior to joining Advance, he served in finance and corporate development functions at Sprint Nextel Corporation. In his new role, Mr. Gupta will report to Kevin Quinn, Vice President, Finance.
