Cemig in Bovespa ISE Sustainability Index - for 8th consecutive year
Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais), a listed company with securities traded on the stock exchanges of São Paulo, New York and Madrid, as part of its commitment to best corporate government practices, hereby publicly informs its stockholders and the market in general as follows:
Cemig has once again been selected for inclusion in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (BM&FBOVESPA) - now for the eighth consecutive year.
Cemig has been included in the ISE since it was created, in 2005.
The index's new portfolio includes 51 shares of 37 companies, in 16 sectors, with aggregate market capitalization of more than R$ 1 trillion, equivalent to 45% of the total market capitalization of the companies with shares traded on the BM&FBOVESPA (on November 29, 2011).
The companies included in the new portfolio were selected from the 200 most liquid shares on the exchange, after they answered a 400-point questionnaire designed to reflect, as well as their features, products and services, their activity in relation to the environment, activities in the community interest, corporate governance and climate change.
