New MX85 Series Delivers Highest Clock Integration in Smallest Package With Best Performance
SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- Micrel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCRL), an industry leader in high performance analog and high-speed mixed signal, LAN, and timing and communications solutions, announces ClockWorks Fusion, a revolutionary clock generation product family from Micrel that integrates the crystal, frequency synthesizer and fan-out buffer to deliver industry-leading integration in a single package. The MX85 is the first in a series of devices aimed at simultaneously meeting the ultra-low jitter (less than 200fs) and integration requirements of 10/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe 2.0/3.0, Fibre Channel, SAS/SATA, and high speed reference clocking for FPGA and SerDes applications. Integrating the crystal in a compact package provides a complete clocking solution that eliminates the design burden imposed by existing discrete solutions. With jitter performance accounting for on-chip fan-out buffers, this custom configurable (OTP) clocking solution reduces customers' bill-of-material (BOM) and footprint, simplifies PCB design, and enhances overall system performance. The MX85 can be configured with up to five outputs of two different frequencies supporting LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL and CMOS logic types.
