KNOXVILLE, TN -- (Marketwire) -- 02/01/13 -- Miller Energy Resources, Inc. (NYSE: MILL) ("Miller" or "the Company") announced today that it has retained MZ Group as its investor relations advisor. Derek Gradwell, SVP of Natural Resources for MZ North America, will be the Company's primary investor relations contact going forward.

MZ Group will assist Miller in developing and executing a robust corporate communications and investor relations program. Additionally, MZ will help the Company expand its shareholder base, particularly in Canada and the U.S.

"We are committed to improving our investor relations and outreach efforts," said Scott M. Boruff, Miller's Chief Executive Officer. "We have a tremendous base of both producing and undeveloped assets in Alaska and Tennessee, and we expect many exciting new opportunities will arise over the next year. We know that we will be communicating with our shareholders and prospective investors with increasing frequency and on an increasingly broad range of subjects. MZ will be instrumental in helping us articulate the importance of each new development, convey our investment appeal to new audiences and unlock the substantial shareholder value inherent in our company."

"Miller Energy is a perfect fit for MZ," stated Ted Haberfield, President of MZ Group North America. "Over the past year, they have made tremendous progress strengthening their operations, management team, and corporate governance. Having recently achieved several important milestones, this is exactly the right time to tell their story to more retail and institutional investors. These forward-looking statements involve the implied assessment that the resources described can be profitably produced in the future, based on certain estimates and assumptions. Forward-looking statements are based on current expectations, estimates and projections that involve a number of risks, uncertainties and other factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those anticipated by Miller Energy Resources, Inc. and described in the forward-looking statements.
